The locality is attested from 1484. At the edge of the locality there are 13 mounds, probably the eternal place of the locals killed by the Tartars. During the plague epidemic of 1719, half of the villagers died. They were buried in the singer's garden, the place being marked with a cross. Dr. Nyulas Jakab Ferenc, one of the makers of Hungarian chemical terminology, was born here.
