Map of Sarasău: Mann house

On a map of Sarasa of 1863 three names appear on most plots: Mánn József, Mihályi Gábor and Jurka János. It can be distinguished exitența this house on a parcel landowner József Mann. He was born in 1816 in Sarasau into a family of landlords. He was married to Baroness Sztojka Klára. Man József became government commissioner in 1848 and later prefect Maramaureș. He died in 1876. The family inheritance reach Mihályi house. They had a house elsewhere, they moved the estate manager here. Mihályi's house was demolished.
After privatization the Mann house became a Culture House, later a guard house. After the partition walls were demolished, the cinema moved here. After 1989 the house structure was strengthened, and went through a restoration, today is the new Town Hall.
