Map of Şinteu: Buffalo ranch

The first buffalo farm in the country was made here on the hills of Șinteu. Buffalo livestock is a profitable business, their meat has no cholesterol and is more healthy than the chicken meat.
The buffalo has 450-1350 kg it reaches 1,60-1,80 m and lives about 33 years. It is wild bovine related to European buffalo. It is the strongest herbivorous mammal which lives on the fields of North America.
Today there are aproximatively 10.000 American buffalos all living in the reservation for reproduction. 50 American buffalos were brought here in Șinteu by an Austrian and a German investor. The farm has a surface of 17 ha surrounded by wire mesh and electrical fence.
