Map of Făgăraş: Museum of the Fagaras land

The museum based on Valeriu Literat's (1885-1972) folk art collection was founded in 1923 and has had several names during history. Today it is called the Museum of the Fagaras Land. Relying on historical documents it presents the growth of civilization in the region.
It has got three sections: the history of the Fagaras Land, the folk art of the Olt region, and Virgil Fulicea's statue exhibition. The museum exhibits a procession mask from the Roman times II-III c., the Middle Ages coin collection found at Părău, (XIV - XVII c.) archeological findings, coins, old books, fine arts and industrial art works, folk art objects, pictures of saints painted on glass, ceramics, woven fabrics, painted eggs, folk crafts, folkwear, wood carving, weapons, tiles, old manuscripts, glass pieces, and many other interesting things
