Map of Salonta: Arany János college

The beginnings of the Arany János Lyceum are related to the decision of the 1903 Local Council to decide the establishment of the high school, as it was 200 years old as a general school. In the spring of 1904, the decision of the local council of Salonta was approved by the council council. At that time there were only two high schools in the county, and those confessional ones.
So the first State High School of the County opened its doors in 1907, under the leadership of the first director Tatár Balázs. The building of the high school was lifted two years later, after the architect Székely László. From 1941 he took the name of the great born of the city, poet Arany János. High school has often been degraded in industrial, agricultural highschool, reverting to its original name and rank only in 2007. Now it meets you at the bust of the poet.
