Many documents say that this house was built in 1588, but these documents can be questioned because its owner, the town mayor, Johannes Schuller died in 1586. This house was used by many Transylvanian sovereigns for resting place while passing through Mediaș. Zsigmond Báthori also lived in it while attending a congress. Later the descendants of the Schuller family lived here, after this, for many years, it had been used as an inn and pot-house. Since 1993, by government decision, the town hall disposes on it. At the present time the German Democrats Forum rents it.
The building has a lecture-hall which can accommodate 130 people, it also has many exhibition rooms, a parlor and six guest-chambers. From the U shaped inside yard you have a beautiful view of the arcaded storey. The arched entrance is guarded by stone lions. These lions are copies of the original lions which are displayed at the Saint Margaret church.
