Map of Mediaş: The old town hall
The earliest written records of the old city hall go back to 1583. In 1803 the building was renovated and the Roofed stairs a.k.a., the Prison Stairs were built. These opened up a new entranceway into the castle. Once the new city hall was built, the old building provided room for the new secondary-school of the town.
