Map of Jibou: Zoo garden

The zoo has a special status in the Wesselényi field. It is said that here was placed the stage on which the actors from Cluj performed plays with hunting themes for the Wesselényi baron, a culture lover, and for his guests. The animals were free and sometimes one of them was in the middle of the show. In this case it was killed by one of the spectators or by Wesselényi himself. During the shows, which ended up in the late night, the baron displayed his Arabian horse stud and his herds of cattle. Today the wild animals behind the wire mesh seem more domestic and are allowing us to admire them freely.
