Map of Oraviţa: Roman Catholic Church

In 1718 was constructed in the western part of Oravita by colonists from Tirol. Kisslinger in Kreuzwiese was a wooden church constructed by them or Poiana in cross (after the crossroads of several roads here) and 14 September is the date of celebration of the first cross being put out here for the believers.
The same year because of Karol 6, the king gave order to, it started to be constructed and it was already finished by the year of 1722. it was constructed instead of the church having been burned by the turcs before.
When it got its sanctity, the royal donation was a part of the cross from Jesus-Christ's cross from Jerusalem. Wagenchom 1774, painted a large tableau about Jesus for the church.
In 14 th September everyone, all the believers went to the small church after the liturgy the church of krewuzwiese.
