In the year 1920 Oravita is the main town in the county Caras. For this reason there was a must to construct some representative buildings for the politicians of the area. Henrieta Delavreancea Gibori won the right of constructing a new main building, or town hall, and she was the daughter of the famous writer. Built between1931-32 in renaissance style with a tower, this building is nowadays the town hall of the town Oravita.
