The Locker house was built in 1815. In 1963 the commercial units of the ground-floor was transformed into apartments. In the arched locked metal bar protected bay situates in a corer of the building were placed the crafts' emblem: The ferruled billet. The only craft billet of Romania was made by a sculptor of Timisoara Moritz Heim for the order of the Macedo-Romanian merchant Andrei Trandafir. Actually this is a metal-plated trunk-part. The emancipated mates came as apprentices for specialization to Arad and as a sign of their presence they pealed brads of different shape into the stump. In 1994 the stump had been stolen but it was found by the police what gave it back to the restoration section of the Museum of Arad. There it was restored and now it is seeable in its original form on the second floor of the Art Museum.
