Map of Arad: The Orthodox Cathedral
The Sf. Ioan Botezătorul orthodox cathedral was built between 1863 and 1865 in baroque style after the plans of Antoniu Gzigler. Its interior is decorated by bizant frescoes that figures biblical scenes and saints.
From 1966 on the interior of the cathedral is decorated by the frescoes of Eremia Profeta. The bell on the cathedral was casted in 1764 for the former cathedral and it was taken from there.
