Map of Arad: The Atonement Park
After the repression of the war of independence the court-martial doomed 13 general for high-treason. After 41 years since the execution of 6 October, 1849 there was placed a memorial statue at 6 October, 1890. The group made by Zala György and Huszár Adolf might stood for 29 years on its base. In 1919 the then administration moved it away and it took 85 years to become of it at 25 April 2004 plaza-statue again.
Against the many pros and cons the statue stand again for this time in the Atonement Park in company of a 9 m high triumphal-gate from what place Avram Iancu and other revolutionists look down to the there goers. The monumental creation is the had-work of the sculptor Ioan Bolborea.
