The Catholic church of Baia Sprie was built between 1847 and 1858 according to the plans of the priest Tischler Albin, instead of an older church demolished in 1847. Its organ was taken to the city of Zvolen Slovakia, in exchange for the tithe on the production of all the gold mines. and silver from the city.
The main entrance of the new church with two towers is decorated with a portico that rests on four pillars. In front of the entrance were placed the statues of the saints Stefan and Ladislău. Interior pillars artificial red marble interior defines character.
6 frescoes on the vault were made in 1877 by artists from Milan painter Károly Lotz, producer of the main altar painting. The paintings of the secondary altars were made in 1859 by the painter Franz Geiling. The organ was built in 1857 failed, and using a 1984-electric organ.
