This stone building in the south of the Central Market is the town hall of Baia Sprie, built in 1739, instead of the old town hall, set on fire in 1593, by the Tatars from Lăpuș. The reconstruction work was possible only 149 years later.
Bars on windows downstairs reads 1837, for photographs taken in the 1800s no bars. Of note are on the side of the street the main entrance and the two entrances to the cellar with wooden doors. Inside the building you can still see the original wooden staircase, the decorations reminiscent of the mining past and the beautifully executed vaults.
