Old St. Francis and St. Elisabeth Center is an institution with a tradition of Cluj, which has its roots in the City Hospital, which in 1671 was moved to the city center. Because of the constant outbreak of infection in 1768, the order of the Catholic bishop is moved to the place of the order of the Minorites in Saint Peter. In 1818 the spiritual leadership of the parish and the elders' center was unified.
Since then, it is called the Old St. Francis and St. Elizabeth Center. After the opening Karolina Hospital, from 1820 only the elders remained. The present house was built between 1855-1870. Symmetrical building has an entrance and the street, above which, in the middle turret niche is the statue of St. Elizabeth. To the west of the building was built the parish of the Catholic church. Since 1912, elderly care has been provided by samaritan sisters, and since 1948 has become a state institution. Currently the building houses the Center for care and assistance
