This house was built on the initiative of Professor Brandt József, the first surgeon - as defined today.
Here it worked from 1895 Maria Elizabeth Hospital under the aegis of the Red Cross.
In 1929 there began the first work Cancer Research Institute of Romania and the second in Europe. Currently this works Department of Hematology Oncology Institute. Stained glass windows in stairwells and destination refer to the building's past.
