Aliniș Lake is one of the 6 salty lakes in Sovata. It is actually the twin lake of Ursu Lake, but much smaller, used as a swimming pool. It has an area of 3619 square meters, with a maximum depth of 7.4m. It is located 60m west of Lake Ursu in a sinkhole of rare beauty. Its occurrence was caused by Lake Ursu, which after filling came out and flooded the salt mine of Aluniș. This is where the name of the lake comes from.
