Map of Sovata: Lake Blackbird

Lake Mierlei has been in the 1950s and is located in a sinkhole formed by the dissolution of the underground salt. So it probably formed the lakes of Aluniș, Verde, Roșu and Șerpilor, the latter being turned into marshland.
Lake Mierlei is located northwest of Lake Aluniș. Its water is very salty, it has a surface of approx. 1500 square meters and a maximum depth of 1.7m. From the path to the shore of the lake there are wooden stairs.
