Map of Baia Mare: Skanzen
In 1978, in the Hill of Flowers was opened the Village Museum in Baia Mare. Traditional houses here from the four ethnographic present in Maramures: Country Maramures Country Chioar Country Lapus and forests, and plains from Satmar.
The museum comprises the households that present its structure according to the occupations presented. Exposed a series of technical installations operated by manpower, but also driven by hydropower. There have been omitted or constructions related to the spiritual life, school and church and courtyard farmsteads specific construction related to animal husbandry. The interior houses meet all of the traditional areas of origin.
The Lăpuș ethnographic area is represented by a household in Coșteni, Lăpuș and Ungureni. There are houses built in the 19th century. Country Maramures present three households Berbești, Petrova, and Giulesti, where it was made and old school.
From Country Chioarului were brought here by a household in Prislop and Bozanta Mare and Satu Mare to the house of the Hungarian Băbești. Households are surrounded by fences with specific gates.
