The largest building in the market for Black Eagle inn was once (Fekete Sas), offering visitors accommodation City. The inn provided play rooms (billiards, bowls, playing cards), a car park, and in the large hall upstairs were organized ball and theater performances.
Khan commemorative plaque on the wall informs us that here was hosted in September 8, 1847 the great poet Petofi Hungarian which way to kick camped here with his wife Julia Szendrey. The inn was built in the early eighteenth century, in 1802 was renovated and enlarged, then it is probably the bunk. In 1925 the inn has closed its doors, the building became the town hall. Since 1950 it has hosted the Court and the Land Book.
The beautifully restored building in 2003-2004, a Center for Business today. More attentive visitors will notice immediately the wall facing the square blocks of stone plaster avoided. These blocks are also seen inside the building, and probably come from the old church.
Imposing building conceals other interesting things, such as the chimney in the attic or free outlet sewer cellar, stating the age of the building. The spiral staircase, the cellar, or the carriage entrance was restored, above which a cluster of grapes reminds of the original destination of the building. It is heartening that in Baia Mare the protection of antiquities does not stop at the declarative level.
