On the bank of the Săsar stream lies the headquarters of the former Mining Administration, consisting of several buildings. One was the Minz House, the mint, where the famous gold coins were beaten. The mint building only exists, burned down in 1864, and has not been rebuilt. The U-shaped complex made of the other buildings was built in the 18th-19th centuries. Here the Mining Administration worked, and several institutions related to the mining activity. By the middle of the twentieth century all institutions were moved from here, and after the restoration of the buildings were moved here History Museum: the Archeology, the Middle Ages, modern history, as well as the sections that show the history of mining and money.
