In the 15th century, the first representatives of the minority cluster appeared in Baia Mare. In 1547, when the reformer Kopácsi István converted the whole city to the reformed religion, all the other denominations were abolished. More than 100 years Baia Mare has been no order.
n the second part of the seventeenth century. the anti-Reformation current strengthens and the Jesuits and the minorities reappear. Lipót I. in 1687 offers to the minors the church of St. Nicholas (Miklós). In the eighteenth century the order obtained land in the center, which raised clastrul single level, which was subsequently floors.
